Limkokwing University of Creative Technology recently held a hair show at their campus plaza. Organised by students of the university’s Hair Design Academy, the event was attended by industry icons.
The show kicked off to a good start and received commendations from the president of the Malaysian Hairdressing Association, Teh Siew Yong. The show showcased hairstyles ranging from casual to avant-grarde. The diversity and integration of cultures were also displayed, allowing the audience to appreciate international culture and customs. This provided the students a valuable opportunity to learn about global affairs.
Apart from being more confident in their creations, the students also tapped into their creative and adventurous spirit, adding fashion and music to their creation.
Xander Loh, principal lecturer of Limkokwing Hair Design Academy was satisfied with the show because it was not only a part of the students’ practical hairdressing lesson, but also gave them the chance to learn the ropes of managing a hair show, from the marketing and business aspects, right down to the computing segment. It is without a doubt that these entrepreneurial skills will take them far in the hairdressing industry.
