University founder bags ‘Grammy’

Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has bagged himself a Brand Laureate 2010 CEO of the Year Award at the annual Brand Laureate ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur.

The Brand Laureate 2010 CEO of the Year Award, the ‘Grammys’ of branding recognises Tan Sri’s stalwart leadership as the only export of Malaysian creative education, the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.

Lim stared off as a cartoonist for a local daily whilst discovering and establishing his flair in advertising and creative communications. He further stamped his mark in the creative industry working on one after another successful government and industrial campaigns such as the Rakan Muda, Tak Nak!, and the 1998 SUKOM Commonwealth Games among others.

Lim later brought his creativity to the classroom, moulding more and more graduates equipped with the creative insights to be future leaders.

Under his stewardship the Limkokwing University has grown to become the only Malaysian ‘brand’ to export its education to the world with campuses in 3 continents, Asia, Africa and Europe with a combined global network of 30 000 students from 150 countries.

Both Lim and the University have been winning accolades from all across the globe with the latest honour being the Gold Prize in Education & Learning at the inaugural Putra Brand Awards 2010, in a separate event.
