A warm welcome to distinguished guests and all our friends who have gathered tonight to celebrate life.

My name is Wilson Yeoh. I am from Malaysia and I am studying at this university.

Heal the world is about life.

Life that should be celebrated and not destroyed as some people are doing around the world.

What we are doing tonight is to demonstrate to people how life should be lived. How we should enjoy the fact that we were all created to be unique.

What a boring world it would be if all of us were the same colour or the same race or if we spoke only one language and sang only one tune.

We might as well be robots, mindless and soulless.

But the fact remains that conflicts happen when people cannot accept the differences of others. They either force them to be like them or destroy them so they don’t have to see the differences.

But like it or not, Ladies and Gentlemen, the differences are here to stay.

All around us we see how nature is teaching us that life is about diversity.

We have teeming forests on one side and barren desert in another, high mountains on one side and lush valleys below. Birds, insects, mammals, fish, reptiles.

We constantly reminded that we live in a beautiful world.

Let us celebrate life. Let us sing and dance tonight. Let us make merry and by doing so… Ladies and Gentlemen… we heal the world.
