About Education

The President of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dr Lim Kok Wing, often inspires his students with words of wisdom. Even alumni remember the many pieces of advice given.

Over the years, the mentor and educationist extraordinaire has imparted not only creative skills but also uplifting words to his students from more than 90 countries. These words still echo in the recesses of their minds, words such as:

  • We must have more educated and techno-savvy farmers, fishermen and agriculture workers. The ultimate objective must be to enable every Malaysian to optimize his or her skill and talent to build this nation. The population must be mobilized and their human potential marshaled to take the nation forward. It can be done.
  • From day one, education should develop in an environment where students are encouraged to love and explore knowledge. They must be curious about the world around them. They must be self-motivated. And they must be given the freedom to choose to do what they love most and strive for what most inspired them.
  • Malaysia has become a popular destination for students from abroad because we have created a name for our excellent education opportunities. Limkokwing University, for instance, has established a global brand as a creative, vibrant place. As a result, we have students from 80 countries who make up 40 percent of our student population.
  • We train our students to break the norm. We imbue them with a strong sense of passion, inspire them with big ideas and motivate them to succeed. We are about inculcating leadership and promoting excellence. Our students stand out because of the way they think, the way they carry themselves and the results they produce.
  • We must develop a culture in our education system that recognises and celebrates creativity, and promotes a culture in our teaching system that promotes innovation.
