Academy Award winner to conduct symposium at Limkokwing

Academy Award-winning German director, Jochen Alexander Freydank will be making his way to Limkokwing University, Cyberjaya for the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2013.

Academy Award-winning German director, Jochen Alexander Freydank will be making his way to Limkokwing University, Cyberjaya for the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2013. Freydank will be conducting a mini symposium for aspiring filmmakers on 30th October where he will share his techniques and tips on how to be successful as a filmmaker.

His short film ‘Toyland’ won the 2009 Academy Award for the Live-Action Short Film category. Set in the 1940s, the story takes place in Germany where a young German boy becomes jealous of his Jewish neighbors. He hears that they are going to Toyland and decides to go along. ‘Toyland’ is currently being developed into a full feature film, set to go into production in the near future.

This symposium is part of the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2013, hosted by Limkokwing University, Cyberjaya on 29th & 30th October 2013. This event is to share industry experience with the university’s Faculty of Communication, Media & Broadcasting students.
