In an initiative to make tertiary education accessible to everyone, Limkokwing University Swaziland embarked on a regional educational career guidance drive to give high school graduates in rural areas advice and insights on applying and studying at the University.

With many qualifying students living in rural areas, without privileges of coming to the city to find out more about tertiary education and get guidance on course choices, most end up either choosing disciplines not suiting for them, or altogether giving up on their tertiary education dream. That not only robs them of a brighter future, but also robs the country of skilled manpower that could take the country’s economy to higher lengths. Limkokwing University carried out the initiative to address such issues.

Limkokwing University offers a practical based holistic learning experience that takes students beyond the classroom setting and prepares them for the industry. Its arrival in Swaziland has greatly raised a new wave of creative thinkers ready to change the country’s industries.

The University graduated over 800 students last year on an event attended by His Majesty King Mswati III. During his address at the graduation ceremony, His Majesty King Mswati applauded the University for its effort in developing Swazi youth, saying the number of students graduating were a clear indication that the country was well on its way to realising vision 2022. In 2013, the King officially recognised the University as Swaziland’s University of Transformation.

During the drive, Limkokwing staff explained in detail the courses offered by the University, and the career paths students could look forward to after their studies. The staff also explained the sponsorship application process and clarified any other inquiries by the audience.
