Limkokwing University hosted the inaugural Student Glitz and Glamour Awards, in a night full of style and substance at the University campus on the 31st October.
The celebrity studded event, which was held to recognise the most distinguished of the University students while promoting socialising and interaction among students was well attended with students and local celebrities alike dressed in finery. Among the many Gaborone celebrities in attendance was the renowned jazz trio Shanti –Lo, Nono Seile and Nnunu Ramogotsi.
Other celebrities who attended and performed at the event include: Team Distant, Vee, and F.Teddy, Amanados, Mapetla, MMP Family and the DJs for the night were Chef Gustos and Izzy. The crowd cheered and danced along the lively performers; the night charged with music, dance, and much ado.
The awards were given in the categories of: Best Performing Student, Campus Fanatic, Craziest Hairstyle, Most Helpful Student, Most Outstanding Freshman, Best Dressed for the night, Sports Personality of the Year, Most Popular Student, Best Student Ambassador, Best SRC Member, Most loved staff member and Most Active Student on Social Media.
Students took the chance to mingle with the celebrities and take pictures with them at the photo booth set for the night. The event also showcased the University’s own talent as student performers got a chance to share the stage with celebrities.
