Limkokwing Swaziland presented scrolls to over 600 students during its 2nd Graduation Ceremony held at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on 25 September.
Themed, ‘The Future Is Now In Your Hands’, the ceremony was graced by Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini, Limkokwing University Founder Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, Minister of Education Phineas Magagula, Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs David Ngcamphalala as well as other cabinet ministers, Government officials and dignitaries.
It was announced in the graduation that nearly 80% of 824 students graduated from Limkokwing Swaziland last year were absorbed by the industry in the country.
Representing His Majesty King Mswati III, Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini said these numbers were impressive and further encouraged the new graduates to also work towards being employed or starting their own businesses as they had graduated.
According to him, subjects taught at Limkokwing University are entirely relevant to the sustainable development of societies and their economies.
“His Majesty’s Government is also aware of the need to be super active in creative technology as the Kingdom goes forward in this technologically-exciting century,” he added.
He expressed his profound gratitude to Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing for his outstanding generosity in establishing a campus in Swaziland and creating an academic platform to the field of creative technology.
Apart from the dignitaries, the graduation hall was also filled with proud parents, who travelled from different parts of the country to cheer for their children.
Five outstanding graduates from the Class of 2015 received scholarships to pursue their higher education at the University’s flagship campus in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
A Business Management graduate, Mbongeni Matsebula, who spoke on behalf of his peers, said all graduates from this year’s batch were now in employment.
“This alone is indicative of the fact the Limkokwing University produces professional graduates. It is also for this reason that I am asking CEOs, managers and company representatives present here today to hire these graduates while they are still affordable and available.”
He also assured the guests that they were properly-trained and ready to work in the industry to contribute to the economic development of the country.
Limkokwing graduates are known to be the most sought-after graduates due to their extensive industrial exposure and career-ready skills. The University prepares its students to excel in the real world by involving them in projects that require them to work closely with industry professionals.
