Swaziland Media representatives visited Limkokwing University’s flagship campus on 15 December.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss and brainstorm efforts on further strengthening the University’s presence in Swaziland. Upon arrival, Swazi Observer’s Group Managing Editor Mr. Mbongeni Mbingo and Times of Swaziland’s Trainee News Editor Ms. Nosipho Shongwe were taken on a campus tour by Limkokwing University’s Vice President Dato’ Gail Phung.

During the tour, they were familiarised with the University’s history, academic activities and campaigns.

Mr. Mbongeni Mbingo commended the Founder and President of the University, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing, for promoting creativity and innovation across three continents.

“Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing is a genius. He has not only provided a great platform for the youth but also for countries in which the Limkokwing campuses are set up. One way to look at it could be the country’s improved economy, lessening unemployment rates and lastly, opening people’s minds to look at things in a new perspective.”

The Trainee News Editor of Swaziland Times, Ms. Nosipho Shongwe, mentioned that the quality of Limkokwing University’s innovative way of learning is truly mind-blowing.

“The education method here is not only what the country and the African continent needs; it’s what the world needs. Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has done tremendous work globally. He is a phenomenal man.”

On 13 October, Limkokwing University Swaziland held its third convocation ceremony for 728 graduates.

“What we’ve seen with the crop of Limkokwing graduates are youth who have passion and know how they are going to contribute in the industry. The training that they get during their studies enables them to latch onto the workplace and whatever industry they are in,” said Ms. Shongwe.

Mr. Mbingo also acknowledged that Limkokwing University has introduced dynamism on how people perceive ideas. “With the new batch of Limkokwing graduates, you are now looking at a creative new element of work. Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing has given us bright minds to work with.”

“I’m now into a lot of things I want to do back home to try to improve and encourage others to sign up. Limkokwing University is the future. It is the way we should be thinking and it is something we should have thought about 50 years ago,” concluded Mr. Mbingo.
