Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting

Programme aims to provide solid understanding of the accounting & financial concepts, modern accounting, and the ability to apply to real-life situations:

  • Knowledge & skill: understand the concepts of accounting, acquire the analytical & numerical skills, preparation of accounts, book-keeping techniques, and interpretation of financial statements;
  • Management perspective: adapt & apply the knowledge and skills in making financing decisions;
  • Nature of work: participation in group and team activities designed to simulate the work environment;
  • Economics & law: economics theory & its applications, the law that applies to businesses, both from contract and company perspectives.

This is an exquisite programme where we are giving equal importance to accounting and finance. Our graduates would have a list of special skills such as having the ability of interpreting and using financial information in managerial decision making. Accounting and finance would be an excellent match for our students to go into a wide range of business disciplines i.e. ranging from a general business career to more specified areas such as financial departments and professional bodies.

Entry Requirements

Cyberjaya

  • Pass STPM/A level with minimum 3 principals; OR
  • Pass Foundation/Pre-University/Matriculation in related field; OR
  • Pass Diploma in related field; OR
  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government

Students with a recognized Diploma in related field will be given advanced standing into the Degree programme.

Career Opportunities

Students who follow an accounting degree usually do so with the intention of going into professional accounting. However, this degree programme, while opening up the opportunity to follow a career in accounting or finance, does not by any means, limit choices to just this area. Students who follow this pathway will have a good grounding in some of the general principles of management, but with focus on the skills and knowledge which are crucial to project management, financial management, consultancy work as well as the potential for a career as a professional accountant or working with financial institutions.
