Cambridge English Centre, London (CECL) was established to meet the growing needs of the serious academic student of English language study in London, who wanted to attend courses where the Mastery of spoken and written English was the college's primary goal.
Only students who strongly desire to become proficient in the writing, speaking and the understanding of English as a global and competitive language, are enrolled and attend CECL's courses.

Course Description
Beginner Level
Has basic and limited communication skill, usually body language and signals are employed. Requires much assistance for communication. Produces basic spoken and written language such as name, address and very simple greetings.
Elementary Level
Has some basic communication skills, but requires assistance. Produces spoken and written language in familiar situations Can give basic personal information in spoken language, can exchange greetings, ask for simple information, carry out simple transactions and formulate questions necessary for daily life Where topic is familiar, conveys general meaning in spoken language. Can provide basic written information about personal identity.
Pre-Intermediate
Has basic competence in spoken English in familiar situations and roles. Is able to negotiate the transactions needed for daily life and to function adequately in basic social situations. Can produce written English required for form filling, notes and simple tasks. Beyond the range of familiar situations can experience breakdowns in communication but has some strategies for requesting clarification.
Intermediate
Has general knowledge of basic structures and can use these appropriately in most everyday situations. Has acquired some of the language appropriate to personal and professional interests. Although likely to make many mistakes, is able to communicate effectively in both and written English and to use coping strategies in difficult situations.
Upper Intermediate
Operates effectively in spoken and written language. Has comprehensive knowledge of basic language structures and can use them appropriately in most situations. Understands the gist of passages of spoken and written language in most general fields of personal and professional interests. Can use and understand complex and idiomatic language in familiar situations. Has some inaccuracies but can often correct them and does not normally make mistakes which hinder communication.
Pre-Advanced
At this level, a learner should be able to handle the main structures of the language wit some confidence, demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of vocabulary and use appropriate communicative strategies in a variety of social situations. Their understanding of spoken language and written texts should go beyond being able to pick out items of factual information, and they should be able to distinguish between main and subsidiary points and between the gist of a text and specific detail. They should be able to produce written texts of various types, showing he ability to develop an argument as well as describe or recount events.
CAE Advanced
Has operational command of all basic structures of the language. Recognizes different registers and operates effectively in registers appropriate to personal and professional situations. Can infer meaning and detect nuance in both spoken and written language for a variety of text types. Occasional errors and misunderstandings still occur but these are usually limited to unfamiliar situations. Has sufficient command of spoken and written language to be effective in the appropriate occupational environment as well as in daily life. Can handle complex language and follow complex passages in spoken and written form. Occasional error and misunderstandings may occur but has strategies for repair and for handling any difficult situations that hinge on linguistic problems.
IELTS
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills - listening, reading, writing and speaking, for people who intend to study or work where English is the language of communication.
Computing English and ECDL
CECL's aim with this course is to provide the student with ample English resources to understand the PC and to able to confidently install, navigate and support their own software and hardware installation.
The ECDL course is accredited by the British Computer Society and has seven modules the student has to complete. It is a mandatory course which all CECL students must take in order to graduate.
This course is suitable for the complete beginner or the advanced student who sip.

Business English
CECL'S business course is designed to introduce the student to business vocabulary, communication, writing and speaking, to assist them in the competitive business arena. The course is designed to teach and improve the student's awareness of communication and writing skills and encourage them to take a serious look at new strategies for using English in a functional way.
