Limkokwing Fashion Club was invited to participate in the Young Designers Village held the 1st Saturday of every month at London’s Portobello Market in Notting Hill.

Portobello Market is one of the iconic tourist destinations in London, particularly since its prominent role in the British romantic comedy film, Notting Hill.  It is well-known as London’s leading vintage fashion and antiques market, and its monthly fashion carnival, Young Designers Village is a one-stop shopping experience featuring the largest selection of young designers at one place.

Limkokwing Fashion Club’s collections displayed at the Young Designers Village were a huge hit among the public, who were impressed with the designs by the University’s fashion students.

Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, the Fashion Club’s Creative Director and Limkokwing University’s Vice President felt proud that the University label has connected with people all around the world.

“In London, the response has been quite positive. We are excited because we are young and fresh designers. Nobody knows us here. And it’s a good way to test whether our product is of international quality. It feels great to be invited because we know that people already identify us as a brand to watch,” she added.

Limkokwing students attending the Global University Campus programme in London, were given the opportunity to film and interview Dato’ Tiffanee and the event as a part of their 4-day academic workshop. The videos produced by the students can be seen at the end of this article.

Limkokwing Fashion Club is the World’s first designer label created by students for students. It is a fun and glamorous take on the biggest international trends in the fashion industry. The label innovatively combines contemporary urban flair with various ethnic influences. The comfort and well-being of the customer is the key concern for the University’s talented student designers, for creating unique pieces for the club’s fashion collections.

The ever-changing collections encompass studded caps, sequined and leather jackets, handbags, backpacks, accessories; as well as T-shirts and hoodies for both sexes.

The label launched its first retail store at Publika Mall in Kuala Lumpur, on 30 March 2013. Since its launch, Limkokwing Fashion Club designs have been featured in many renowned fashion magazines including Vogue, Marie Claire, Bazaar, Cleo, Remaja and Juice.
