MaGIC Chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah visited Limkokwing University on 1 December 2016.
During the visit, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah was greeted by the top management of Limkokwing University led by the Founder and President Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr Lim Kok Wing. After a brief tour of the University’s ecosystem, Tan Sri Irwan and the University management sat down to discuss possible collaboration areas.
The Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) was first announced in October 2013 by the Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak during the 4th Global Entrepreneurship Summit held in Kuala Lumpur. It was established to nurture a vibrant entrepreneurial hub in the region and create an ecosystem that is collaborative, and provide the necessary support to the development of entrepreneurs. One of its responsibilities is help start-ups seek guidance and financial assistance from successful corporations.
Limkokwing University serves as a cradle to design creative individuals, identifying with creativity and innovation, and acting as an R&D laboratory and start-up incubator in harnessing talent and skill development. Limkokwing curricula is very industry-driven which results in its students working on real industry projects commissioned by its industry partners and work side by side with industry veterans to create original works.
