Martha Herman from Namibia is a multidisciplinary fashion enthusiast whose ambition led her to explore the field of business.

After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Retailing, Martha joined her family’s business Grandma’s Cookies where she works as an online marketing manager.

“Working as an online marketing manager was a great chance for me to hone my business acumen in terms of branding. I am currently working on the marketing campaign for the company, and also strategic projects we want to implement for its growth.”

Their main project is to work on supplying store chains in Namibia and South Africa.

Martha believes studying in Limkokwing University taught her to work independently and exposed her to a different way of thinking. “I learned to be confident and trust my abilities more.”

On her overall experience studying in Limkokwing Martha said, “I am very keen on diversity, because it helps us grow as people, and Limkokwing truly has been a great experience for me so far. The energy that I felt on campus truly fueled and rejuvenated my creative spirit. I felt confidence in myself growing as I was thrown into challenges and hands-on work that made me think on my feet and out of the box.”

Martha said the biggest challenges she faced were during her degree studies, but with determination she completed her studies successfully.

“Obtaining my degree is actually my biggest achievement. It was quite a difficult process for me, but with Limkokwing University’s creative method of teaching I made it, because I learned with innovative minds from over 150 countries.”

Martha advised that to be successful one has to do what makes them happy. “Everyone has a different path. You need to make sure that you do not let other people define it for you.”
