Limkokwing Fashion Club opened its fifth store at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, in a chic, soft launch on 30 May 2018.

The new store is the latest addition to the global presence of Limkokwing Fashion Club, joining its other stores in London, Bali, KL, Cyberjaya.

What makes Limkokwing Fashion Club unique is that it showcases students’ talent through an array of clothes, bags and accessories.

Created by both alumni and industry-savvy students from Malaysia’s most globalized university, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, this innovative brand specializes in versatile ready-to-wear pieces that perfectly blend edgy street-style with sophisticated prints.

It excels in edgy, affordable-yet-luxe contemporary designs, offering sublime craftsmanship ranging from eye-catching sequined embellishments to dramatic studs and loud prints.

Creative Director, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, said the Putrajaya outlet was launched weeks before Hari Raya to gauge how well their Raya collection would do during this festive season.

“Here, we are featuring our Raya collection. We wanted to test ourselves in the festive market. We hope there’s an interest.

“We are doing super glamorous, super comfortable, super celebrity; but with really affordable pricing,” said Dato’ Tiffanee.

She said that the idea behind the designs was to promote a life of affordable luxury for those who love wearing creative designs.

“We are designing pieces that can be affordable to people who are designer focused - super savvy, highly confident people,” said Dato’ Tiffanee.

The store also carries its trademark Fashion Club ready-to-wear pieces that are inspired by Limkokwing University students.

“For the student lifestyle, there are beautiful backpacks and utility bags that are heavy duty to be able to carry all their creative tools,” said Dato’ Tiffanee.

Driven by students
Heidi Mohd. Rafique, a Limkokwing Event Management student, later told us that the “Raya collection is everything!”

“What made me buy a piece today is the fact that a student designed it, therefore making it exclusive and original,” she said.

Also, attending the event was Sara Saifuddin, a Diploma in Fashion & Retail student at Limkokwing University, who said that it was refreshing and inspiring to see student’s work displayed in the store.

“I study fashion and I am looking at student’s work displayed here. It is so cool that they can sell their work. It is encouraging to know that students who studied with us did all this,” she said.

Navya Menon, who is in her third year of broadcasting studies at Limkokwing, said that the designs were just getting better and better with time.

“I’ve seen the collection progress over three years and honestly, at the moment, they have a lot of really good pieces. The quality has gotten better like the jackets and the Raya collection. It is also really affordable for the working class. Trust me, you will want to get a wardrobe-full of their pieces,” said Navya.

Breaking boundaries
In 2017, Limkokwing Fashion Club launched its first ever Raya Collection, themed ‘Malaysian Soul’.

Inspired by elements of Indian, Chinese, and Malay, the Raya Collection is the perfect touch for glamour and tradition with versatility that makes the collection perfect for every occasions.

A label with a distinct global feel, Limkokwing Fashion Club was envisioned by Dato’ Tiffanee, who sought to give students of the University a platform to reach their goals significantly faster than the average graduate.

“Limkokwing University invests in the talent of our students in a way that I’ve never seen done anywhere else on Earth,” says Dato’ Tiffanee.
