A high-level Malaysian Indian Muslim Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MIMCOIN) delegation visited the Cyberjaya campus on 16 March 2018 to meet with University Founder and President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing and bestow upon him with the “Leadership Excellence in Nation Building” award.

The delegation was led by MIMCOIN President,  Dato’ Haji Syed Jamarulkhan M.S. Kadir.

Upon arrival, the delegation was given a full tour at the Presidential Library, where they were briefed on the many achievements of the University and its founder Tan Sri Limkokwing, both in Malaysia and abroad.

Garland the Pride of Malaysia

Mentioning that Tan Sri Limkokwing was a respectable personality that had done it all, Dato’ Syed Jamarulkhan said he was delighted to be given the opportunity to garland Tan Sri Limkokwing with flowers, as a sign of respect, and to present the award for “Leadership Excellence in Nation Building” to him in person.

Tan Sri Limkokwing said he was not expecting such a grand gesture, thanking MIMCOIN for their visit and also for presenting such a prestigious award to him.

“Tan Sri is a man for everybody and he is a pride of Malaysia,” said Dato’ Syed Jamarulkhan.

“We were stunned by the warm welcome and this has shown us how much importance and respect the University gives to the visitors,” said Dato’ Syed Jamarulkhan.

Future projects

Possible collaboration in areas of design, branding and packaging was raised during the meeting between both parties.

MIMCOIN Secretary-General, Shahul Hameed Shaik Dawood, mentioned that the organisation was far behind when it came to branding and packaging.

Covering over 60 types of businesses nationwide, mainly in retail, manufacturing and food, Shahul expressed deep interest to collaborate with Limkokwing, with the aim of leveraging on the creativity and innovation that the University is known for, both locally and globally.
