A delegation from the Maldives Ministry of Education was welcomed at Limkokwing University on 11 April 2018.

The Maldivian education delegation arrived promptly at the Cyberjaya campus for discussions on expanding education capacity of Maldivian students at Limkokwing.

The delegation from Maldives was led by Honourable Minister of State for Education, Dr. Abdulla Nazeer.

Upon arrival, the delegation was met by a warm reception from a group of Maldivian students currently studying at Limkokwing University.

“Limkokwing shares a lot of various cultural values, and this could be a great exposure for our students to learn up and be sensitive of the different cultures,” he said.

Limkokwing is listed among the top universities which the Maldivian government is interested to collaborate with, in terms of sending fully-sponsored students abroad to gain international exposure.

Education transformation

“The transformation of education in Limkokwing is exceptional, and to have accomplished so many achievements in a short period of time is something to be really proud of,” said Dr. Abdulla during the meeting with the Limkokwing senior management.

Vice-President of Corporate Affairs and Relations, Dato’ Fajura Juffa Mohd Mustafa Kamal, proposed for the recently launched Limkokwing TVET International centre to be opened up to Maldivian students.

“Being a TVET Malaysia Center, we would like to work closely with the Maldivian government to explore opportunities in the technical and vocational areas,” said Dato’ Fajura.

Vice President for Brand, Creativity & Talent Development, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, told the delegation about Maldivian students’ outstanding academic performances, and that they are also performing incredibly well in the creative arts.
