Limkokwing University welcomed the High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho, His Excellency Major General (Rtd) Lineo Poopa to its flagship campus in Cyberjaya on 27 February 2019.

H.E. Lineo Poopa received a warm welcome by Limkokwing international staff and was given a full tour of the Presidential Library before heading for a meeting with the Limkokwing senior management team.

Giving his remarks during the tour, H.E Poopa applauded the University’s Founder and President Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing in bringing about the much needed transformation to the country’s educational landscape.

“Back in Lesotho, we see Tan Sri Limkokwing as an icon due to the intelligence and hard work that he has put in to transform the education and for changing lives of many young people in the country,” said H.E. Lineo Poopa.


Over 5,000 graduates since 2008

Founder and President of Limkokwing University, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing acknowledged that a huge population of skilled young people from across all African continents have attained their education from Limkokwing University.

“We must train more Basotho youths in the areas of TVET which will help the country to move up in world rankings and increase the likelihood of interests from various investors from across the world,” added Tan Sri Limkokwing.

Over the years, more than 5,000 young leaders have graduated from Limkokwing Lesotho and assisted the nation onto the innovation track with its industry centric programmes.


University Philosophy aligned to Lesotho Vision 2020

Lesotho is an important part of Limkokwing’s African expansion. As part of its initiative, the University has made the national development blue print of Lesotho’s Vision 2020 to ensure that diploma and degree programmes offered are industry relevant and aligned to the country’s future goals.

At the meeting, Tan Sri Limkokwing also urged H.E. Lineo Poopa to organise an African Film Festival in Lesotho as one way for students in the Lesotho campus to implement their skills and talents to be known to the world.
