Limkokwing University concluded a month of English learning programme with 30 South Korean students on 27 January during the Winter Camp Graduation Ceremony.

While participating in the English learning programme, South Korean students took part in several workshops at the University. These workshops included dance workshop, yoga classes, motion graphics, batik creation, recycling materials and music classes.

The programme enables students to study in an immersive classroom environment which aims to provide them with practical learning. Students interact with other students from various nationalities to develop their communication skills as well as their interpersonal skills.

“I think this is the best way to improve spoken English,” said Tina Lee Ha Young from Chosun University. “If I had not come to Malaysia, I would study English grammar sitting down on a chair.”

“I have experienced a lot of things in this one month,” she said while adding that she would not have been able to enjoy the learning experience without the programme at Limkokwing University.

The programme provided crucial life lessons for the students from South Korea.

“This winter camp gave me three points,” said Kevin Kim Geon Woo from Noughyup University.

He explained that he learned that communicating through English is a necessity in life. Kevin also learned the true importance of multiculturalism, and learned to use every opportunity to make new friends.

Nine Cho Ye Chan from Towgwon University gained an opportunity to immerse himself into another culture.

“I learned traditional Malay dance and it was fun,” he said. “I also took part in a field trip around Malaysia and had the chance to see Malaysia’s natural environment.”

The students participated in cultural excursions which enabled them to personally experience Malaysia’s culture. The excursions included a tour around the administrative area of Putrajaya, an exploration of Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife and a visit to the historical city of Malacca.

Limkokwing University emphasises a learning environment that focuses on multiculturalism and practical learning. For more information about Limkokwing University, contact the Limkokwing English Centre at +603-83178855 or via e-mail at pb.antarabangsa@limkokwing.edu.my.
