LEAP hosts a marketing drive for its products and services

Greenshield Investments held a marketing drive for its products and services on Limkokwing Swaziland campus. The company is one of the five taking part in the 2017 LEAP programme.

Limkokwing University’s Entrepreneurship Acceleration Platform (LEAP) has been established with the vision of achieving sustainability and a lasting economic growth in the country. The programme aims to empower students to think beyond employability and embrace entrepreneurship.

Greenshield Investments manufactures and sells household cleaning chemicals, organic perfumes, mosquito repellent, petroleum jelly, and external hard drive pouches made from genuine leather. Greenshield products are made from organic materials such as seed and plant extracts, which are antibacterial, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory.

The event was attended by Limkokwing Swaziland’s LEAP office representatives, former LEAP Chief Executive Officers, the University’s alumni, and students.

Speaking at the event, Swaziland Beverages’ Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs Mpumelelo Makhubu said the LEAP companies’ presentations made him proud to represent Swaziland Beverages under its Kickstart competition portfolio.

Kickstart is a national entrepreneurship competition sponsored by Swaziland Beverages which requires aspiring entrepreneurs to submit business idea proposals to the company. The best three are then awarded with funds to grow their ideas into fully fledged businesses.

“It is quite noteworthy that through its LEAP programme, Limkokwing University offers its students the opportunity to be self-employed and to create employment for others,” Makhubu said.

Makhubu urged aspiring entrepreneurs to identify gaps in their communities that can enable them to implement business ideas. He also advised them to look for ideas even when they are visiting other countries, because at times it takes such inspiration to provide effective solution-based entrepreneurship ideas.

During the event, audience members won sponsored prizes. The main prize was a dinner for two at one of the top local hotels. This prize was sponsored by Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati Make LaMotsa.

LEAP Senior Manager & Industry Liaison Nkosilenhle Masuku said Her Royal Highness sponsored the prize as her contribution towards Greenshield’s product marketing drive. Masuku mentioned that Her Royal Highness is one of Greenshield Investments employees. She is also studying an Associate Degree in Graphic Design at Limkokwing Swaziland.

Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati Make LaMotsa is currently not the only member of Swaziland royalty registered for studies at Limkokwing University. Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati Make laMbikiza is also a fully registered Limkokwing Swaziland student. They are due to graduate this year during Limkokwing Swaziland’s 4th graduation ceremony with members of the LEAP programme.
