Limkokwing University welcomed new and returning students to join the upcoming academic year in a week-long Registration Week from 15 till 19 February at the Hall of Fame.

New and returning students flew in from nearly 102 countries around the globe to register for the new semester. The Hall of Fame was filled with students and parents from Bahrain, Colombia, Denmark, Eritrea, Ghana, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Namibia, Philippines, South Korea, Tunisia and Venezuela to name a few.

Muthangi Prisila Sylvia, a new student from Kenya studying Foundation in Built Environment, felt that Limkokwing University is an international platform to meet different people and learn about cultures from various parts of the world.

“All my friends are from different continents and I have learned about their religion and culture and how people think differently. It opened my mind,” she expressed.

When asked about being away from home, she said, “I missed my family initially but being in a multicultural environment, you find a family away from home. I found a new family here at Limkokwing University.”

Semester 5 Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Games Art Development student, Peyvand Arabi from Iran, felt that it was refreshing to be back to the campus after a three-month break.

“It’s very exciting especially for this semester as we will embark on our one-year final project where we would be able to share our ideas and abilities with our classmates,” she expressed.

As for final semester student from Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Digital Film and Television, Vercia Putri from Indonesia, the break was an opportunity to test her knowledge and skills learned at the University.

“From the skills that I learned as a film student here, I was able to work on a project in Malacca for Tourism Malaysia. I was thrilled to explore different corners of Malaysia and the rich culture of its people,” she said.

Limkokwing University provides a conducive environment for students to mingle and work with people from different cultural backgrounds. This allows the students to understand the international market and adapt themselves into a culturally-diverse community.
