Creative Multimedia students, Ignatius Aldo and Haryono Timothy, received prizes for winning Limkokwing University’s ‘One Word Your World’ contest on 28 February.
In collaboration with Binumi, an online multimedia library and a video editing platform, the contest was opened exclusively to students from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia.
Students were required to submit a 2-minute video using a minimum of 5 royalty-free videos from Binumi’s digital library.
The winners of ‘The Most Creative Video’ (Ignatius Aldo) and ‘The Most Liked Video’ (Haryono Timothy) received an iPad Air 2 and an iPod Touch respectively.
Ignatius Aldo from Indonesia felt it was an honor to win the most creative video of the competition.
“I always encourage my friends to never let any opportunity slip. Take the opportunity and work hard to achieve success,” he said.
Haryono Timothy also from Indonesia said it was his first time winning a video competition and he was grateful to have the most likes for his video.
“Making art is not about winning. Never give up no matter what. Work hard and feel good about what you are doing,” he advised.
Kelvin Chong Choon Siong, lecturer from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia incorporated the competition into the class activities because he believed competitions create an atmosphere where students will be motivated to compete with each other and work harder.
“I always encourage my students to get involved in competitions and events to allow them to see a different perspective and learn more about their field of study,” he added.
