Limkokwing's Indonesian community sure knows how to put on a show.

The Plaza is lit up with a colorful collection of vendors, each showcasing a unique flavor for our students here on the campus. From local food like Nasi Kerabu, rojak, and coconut Jelly to clothing brands like Hoodlum, there was plenty to be seen, bought, and eaten at the Merah Putih Club’s annual Pakserda Bazaar. The club, which comprises of representatives of the Limkokwing Indonesian contingent, usually holds this bazaar to raise funds towards a main event- which, with a little snooping, we found out will be a big music event held in the Hall of Fame. Keep an eye out for it!

The Pakserda Bazaar itself was a bit of the challenge. As Merah Putih Vice President Frendy asserts, “We only had two days to set everything up,” looking at the products of the club’s hard work around him. The Pakserda Bazaar will run till the end of this week, so make sure to head on by to get a taste of some great food, and maybe even pick up a new outfit for this weekend!

The Pakserda is just one of the many events put on throughout the year by our multitude of clubs, representing cultures from the world over. The Indonesian society ‘Merah Putih’ has always been an active force in organising events to bring the students of the university together. Students here will get a glimpse of their friend’s cultures through these events, and come out better suited to joining the global community. And with the academic year here just getting started, you know that the Plaza is just going to keep getting even more colorful as more interesting events start popping up.
