Limkokwing University’s flagship campus is set to hold the much awaited International Cultural Festival tomorrow, 4 May 2017.

Themed ‘The World in One Place’ the festival marks its fifth year and will feature cultural exhibitions from over 60 countries. Through traditional performances of songs, dance, poetry, drama plays and country booth displays, students will share and learn about different cultures from around the world.

The cultural festival also enables students to showcase their skills in communications, branding, multimedia, performing arts, fashion as well as sound and music.

Speaking at a press conference held on 28 April 2017, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, Vice President for Brand Creativity and Talent Development said, “We organise the cultural festival in order to congratulate our students. Our students are unlike any other on earth. As one of the world’s most international universities, we always felt that the festival is something we cannot skip in our calendar.”

“Cultural festival for us at Limkokwing is very important because it really reflects the best of what the University is about. Our University is about equality and peace and bridging the gap between the East and West, the developed and undeveloped.”

She also mentioned that the festival reflects the type of world that people want to live in and the type of life students live on campus.

In 2016, the Limkokwing International Cultural Festival was recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for having the most number of country delegates participating with 93 attendees.

This year’s festival is supported by well-known brands such as AXN, Twentieth Century Fox Film, Uber, The Twee, Zalora, Faber Castell, Carlo Rino and Daikin. Alumni of Limkokwing University namely Joe Flizzow and Emir Hermono will also take part in the festival’s performances. More details can be found in the website culturalfest.limkokwing.net.
