On 28 May, Limkokwing students had the privilege of taking part in a motivational session with renowned author, communications professional and life coach, Faridah Hameed, who shared valuable tips on how to plan and lead a successful life.

Faridah always places emphasis on effective communication, which reflects on her 25 years of collaborations with some of the biggest companies in the region – ranging from media and public relations, to web content development, publishing, and crisis communication.

“You may not necessarily have all the answers now, but you will surely have an idea of how you want your future to be,” she said at a crowded Hall of Fame.

Faridah said it is important to build good relationships with as many people as possible at a young age because the world is all about networking and communication is key to succeeding in life.

“I have worked closely with Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing for many years now, and I have to say, he is an agent of change and his vision towards building a creative and innovative nation is remarkable,” said Faridah, who is also Special Advisor to Tan Sri Limkokwing.

She also told students that creativity is the most valued skill in the world today, and that it is important for Limkokwing students to capitalise on this advantage to show the world what it’s like to be a Limkokwing graduate.

Freedom of Expression

“In other Universities, students are told what to do, but here in Limkokwing, students are given the liberty to explore their inner abilities,” said Faridah.

Sharing her personal experience, she said she was never an excellent student when it came to academics but that never kept her down.

In fact, she worked harder and set her standards high and built good relationships with people.

“Nothing in life is perfect, but we have the final say of crafting our lives the way we want it to be,” said Faridah as the talk drew an end.
