Representatives of the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy visited Limkokwing University on 19 December to discuss educational expansion for Syrian students.

His Excellency the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Tamin Madani, expressed the embassy’s interest in encouraging more Syrian students to study in Malaysia to expand their multicultural awareness and global networking exposure.

“I have heard so much about this University and it has been taking good care of the Syrian students here,” said His Excellency.

“The purpose of this visit is to get to know this University,” he added.

“I heard about this University even before arriving in Malaysia.”

He also said he was deeply was impressed by the University’s global representation, harmony and diversity.

“I was very pleased to see the transformations that students have gone through. The uniqueness of this university is not like anything I have seen around the world.”

According to him, Limkokwing University has helped Syrian students by providing them with the opportunity to discover new technologies and ways of thinking.

“New opportunities such a practical opportunities are what we need in Syria,” he explained. “Innovation is something that we need to bring back home.”

“For them to get introduced to this kind of multiculturalism, it gives them more knowledge to manoeuvre around the world.”

Currently, Malaysia hosts more than 3,500 students from Syria with 300 currently studying in Limkokwing University. Students at Limkokwing are exposed to new technologies and new cultures which would enable Syrian graduates to return with their knowledge of multiculturalism and innovation back to their country.

Limkokwing University accommodates students from over 150 countries. The multicultural exposure and industry focused educational programme enables students to adapt to new technology and different work ethics.
