Limkokwing University welcomed delegates from the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit on 5 July 2017, to discuss collaboration opportunities.

Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) delegates included Deputy Director General (Information and Communication Technology) Dr. Suhazimah Dzazali, Deputy Director General (Management Transformation and Modernisation) Mohd Shahabudin bin Omar, Director of Digital Government Division Dr. Yusminar Yunus, Deputy Director Turidi bin Mat, and Deputy Director of the Planning and Corporate Communications Division Shireen Jasmin Ali.

MAMPU is a central agency for the modernisation and transformation of Public Service Administration. The agency’s major role is serving as a catalyst for change in administrative and management services in the public sector. MAMPU is a leader in developing ICT for the public sector. The agency consults in management organisation and ICT and facilitates in the implementation of modernisation and transformation programmes in the public sector delivery system. MAMPU is also a researcher in administrative modernisation and management planning for the public sector as well as promoter of government services to the public.

According to Dr. Suhazimah, the agency aims to create a unified brand for digital government services while enhancing the country’s national brand. The collaboration will enable the University to contribute by providing its expertise in branding, publicity, and promotion of the agency’s public services.

During the visit, MAMPU delegates were given a campus tour for an overview on the University’s digitalisation transformation capabilities. University representatives and MAMPU delegates are currently engaged in several discussions to establish a greater ICT framework for Malaysia.

Limkokwing University was appointed as the MAMPU Strategic Partner in Digital Government Transformation Initiative on 23 November 2016. As part of Malaysia’s Public Sector Strategic Collaboration Network platform, the University will play a key role in the country’s implementation of the Government’s digital services. These roles will emphasise key developments in digital services and communication, data and privacy protection, cloud services, and cyber security within the public sector.

Limkowking University is an educational institution that engages in national and social development. The collaboration with MAMPU will enable the University to contribute to the Malaysian community through the development of the country’s digital initiatives.
