Ikhwan Bin Ahmad Nainy: Leading technology towards Industry 4.0

10 May 2022

Alumnus Ikhwan Bin Ahmad Nainy has always loved all things tech. The intricacies and complexity required in solving problems were what interested him in engineering from a young age. He is currently employed at Nu Vending Sdn Bhd as a Software Engineer. The company focuses on providing solutions for selling products via vending machines.

“My role encompasses creating a system application for the machines as well as connecting to a centralised database to keep track of the audit trail.”

Nu Vending has one mission: To carve the path for self-serving automation vending technology. The company offers goods and services within a connected digital ecosystem and provides convenience for machine owners and their vending customers.

This self-serving automation technology enhances the buying experience for consumers. “We hope Malaysia becomes more advanced as we integrate more and more technology into the market.”

Ikhwan is excited to see his skills yielding a tangible result and contributing to the growth of the company. The software engineer and his team are developing a new line of products which would be the first of its kind to be offered by the company.

“I am excited to see my skills yielding a tangible result and contributing to the growth of the company. The system would be used to upgrade previous products and is able to adapt to various requirements of hardware.”

The IT field is a fast paced, ever-changing environment. The technology of today can easily be irrelevant tomorrow.

“To stay in the game, you have to stay ahead of the game; that means always keeping up to date. Be open to new experiences and always keep an open mind to new ideas. Only then you can truly grow as a person, both career wise and personally.”

According to the US Bureau of Labour Statistics, “Employment of computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 12% from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations.”
