Malaysian e-Government services will soon get a much-needed boost as the strategic partnership between Limkokwing University and the Malaysian Administration Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) kicks into high gear.

A delegation from MAMPU led by its Deputy Director-General, Dr. Suhazimah Dzazali, met with University representatives at the Cyberjaya campus on 2 October 2017 for the latest round of talks to bring online government services to the masses.

The focus of the discussion was realising MAMPU’s new people-centric initiatives.

“MAMPU aims to provide a citizen-focused approach for it digital services to the public,” said Dr. Suhazimah. “But at the moment, the public is still unfamiliar with the services available.”

She said the Malaysian government’s digital services are often underutilised due to lack of awareness among the public.

“We hope that the University could boost MAMPU’s reach to the public and to communicate our brand while keeping the public more informed about our services,” she added.

Under the partnership, the University will share its expertise and experience to further develop MAMPU’s brand presence. The talks touched upon a fully-integrated national campaign aimed at ensuring household recognition of the government’s digital services.

Other initiatives discussed were brand development for the Malaysian Government and the creation of new applications, including a centralised platform for the public to access all key government services.

The University will also design and develop an internal application for MAMPU to monitor other ministries and agencies.

Limkokwing University officially became a strategic partner of MAMPU last November, during the Public Sector CIO Convex 2016. As a member of the Public Sector Strategic Collaboration Network, the University had taken on the responsibility of assisting in the ongoing development of the Malaysian digital landscape.
