Magic at Limkokwing exhibition thrills Melaka citizens

It was back-to-back exhilarating performances and a dazzling fashion show at Melaka last month by Limkokwing University of Creative Technology during the Magic @ Limkokwing Exhibition.

Limkokwing University was seen as a creative tool for the state of Melaka and its people through the four days of exhibition at Dataran Pahlawan. Many school leavers with their family visited Limkokwing education booths to know more about the various courses offered by the university.

Limkokwing’s Creativity in Motion and Limkokwing Fashion Club drew an outstanding crowd on the grand evening of the exhibition as the spirit of celebration was enjoyed by all Melaka citizens in the city.

Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Wira Ir Haji Idris Haron bestowed with Outstanding Leadership in Youth Development award by Limkokwing University.

“First of all I would like to express my utter most appreciation and my gratitude to Tan Sri Limkokwing for having organized such an event in the state of Melaka. I really appreciate what he has done,” said Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Wira Ir Haji Idris Haron.

“Limkokwing has marked a significant milestone in academic development of higher institution in the country. So what we have just seen is the development of our children, I call them the ‘Children of Wing’. I had said it many times and I’m going to say it many more times that Tan Sri Limkokwing has created different colours of higher education in the country,” he added.

Datuk Idris Haron also mentioned that, “I have always appreciated and will appreciate what Tan Sri is doing. I really hope that he is going to pursue whatever his vision is. I know he is going to explore the potential in everyone who enrols in Limkokwing University. Students who enrol in Limkokwing University is about to change the way they think and is about to see opportunities rather than problems. Whenever, they change problems into opportunities they will be categorised as a creative person.”

“Congratulations and I hope to see more of this events happening in Melaka. I will visit the campus and I want to see Melaka Limkokwing campus to be the best campus in the country and in the world in fact. Thank you very much on the award being acknowledged on me and also thank you Dato Tiffanee Lim for being around here in Melaka. There were so many surprises and I’m so excited. I know Limkokwing will bring about the difference in the state of Melaka where higher education is concerned,” concluded Datuk Idris Haron.

The fashion event turned extra special when a Swazi royal, Her Royal Princess of Swaziland, Sikhanyiso Dlamini made her first and majestic runway walk in Malaysia for Limkokwing Fashion Club.

“The show was spectacular. I love the idea of having shops around the environment, it made the event more creative and enlivened the energy. I like the fact that the minister was here to add to the relevance of the event. We fed off the energy of the people well. This is my first runway in Malaysia. I was concerned about falling because I have never modelled for a programme before but I’m here now and it was lovely,” said the princess.

Princess Sikhanyiso walked on stage in a black and gold Limkokwing Fashion Club ensemble. She wore a lace sleeved evening gown paired with gold tiger cuffs and a gold Indonesian inspired tiara.

“I like the warmth of the Malaysian people. I like the fact that there are many different cultures merging into one, somehow there is a Malaysian atmosphere,” added Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini.

On Limkokwing Fashion Club, she shared that, “I like the idea that everything bounds off in black at Limkokwing. Creativity is just inspired naturally and uniquely according to Limkokwings’ individual styles.”

“Limkokwing University students are being encouraged to meet the needs of the current generation globally. The university has totally given the right opportunity for its students to enhance their skills and creativity. I have made the correct decision in enrolling my daughter at Limkokwing Melaka campus to pursue her studies in fashion,” said Mr Steven from Melaka.
