Limkokwing University alumna Mats’eliso Mohale is mapping an outstanding career in the film industry – both as an actress and executive producer for various television shows.

Born in Maseru, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Professional Communication in 2012 and a Masters in Communication in 2018.

The vivacious 32 year old said she fell in love with acting at a young age, and was eager to share her journey so far and how she found success in the industry.

Mats’eliso landed her first professional acting gig on Kaulapoho 1 in 2007 and Kaulapoho 2 in 2009.

In 2010 she finally got her big break in the film Ts’asa, fielding a fantastic performance that led to two more roles in Lilaphalapha 2 and 3.

As the leading act and an assistant director, she won Lesotho’s best feature film for Lekunutu which aired on national television in 2016.

In Forgotten Kingdom directed by Andrew Mudge, which won an award in New York, she played a supporting role.

Passion

“Acting is beautiful in the sense that when playing a role, it helps me escape reality for just that moment and I get to experience the beauty of living another life; that persona everyone fantasizes about, mesmerizing audiences and make them ride the rollercoaster of emotion, exploring life together, experiencing its ups and downs together and providing the experience of building and loving a character,” she said, when asked what she loves most about acting.

On where she draws her inspiration, Mats’eliso mentioned American actress Taraji P. Henson and Lillian Dube from South Africa as he role models.
