Founding President of Limkokwing University, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing was bestowed with the “Iconic Legend in Sustainable Business Transformation” award at the Global Business Leadership Awards 2019 at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel.
The event was graced by His Royal Highness Tengku Hishamuddin Zaizi, Royal Family Member of Selangor and Kelantan and Head of Trade and Economic Relations from the European Union Delegation to Malaysia, Mr. Nicolas Dross.
Themed “Advocating Sustainability as the New Normal for Business Growth” the Global Business Leadership awards recognise leaders who had excelled in corporate sustainability, giving them a competitive leadership advantage. It also honours those who serve to be benchmarks as exemplar of sustainable business practices to other organisations in accordance to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The recognition takes into account Tan Sri Limkokwing’s outstanding track record in highlighting the value of industry-led education through Limkokwing University over the past four decades; creating an institution that is transforming nations in Africa, Asia and Europe.
His lifelong journey of empowering nations and people was paid a fitting tribute when he was bestowed with the Commonwealth Champions Award in 2017. The award recognised Tan Sri Limkokwing’s efforts towards building a peaceful world through various campaigns as well as his endeavours in globalising Malaysian education in Asia, Africa Europe where Limkokwing campuses are set up.
To reshape the future of Malaysia and Malaysian education, he pushed beyond the limits and boundaries with bold commitment to accomplish what once seemed impossible.
Not only confined to the education sector, Tan Sri Limkokwing’s leadership has garnered hundreds of awards and recognitions both locally and internationally.
His dedication in transforming the education landscape through creativity and innovation has had a tremendous impact in the lives of millions globally, which is why over 30,000 students from 160 countries study at Limkokwing campuses around the world.
