The Argentinian Deputy Chief of Mission to Malaysia Augusto Cesar Granada visited Limkokwing University on 24 May 2017.
Upon his arrival, he was taken on a campus tour by the University’s staff to familiarise him with its history, philosophy, campaigns as well as its unique ecosystem. He also had a chance to attend a workshop by an Argentinian artist and curator, Lupe Gallo.
His Excellency Augusto expressed his amazement at the University’s accomplishments and its creative approach to education.
“Limkokwing University is very impressive. Before visiting here, I heard a lot about it through a lot of sources such as friends, diplomats, and business people here in Malaysia.”
He was mostly impressed by the diversity of cultures on campus, and mentioned that universities around the world should emulate Limkokwing University’s footsteps and promote cultural diversity.
“The minute you step into Limkokwing University, you realise the diversity of cultures, religions and ethnicities. Not only is this important for the future of a country but for the future of the world. There is so much going on in the world right now, and diversity should be one of the principles for understanding and creating a better society for the future, so I think what Limkokwing has sown for the future is very important.”
His Excellency Augusto applauded the Founder and President of Limkokwing University Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing for being able to pioneer in creating a platform for youth to learn in a creative environment.
“I think Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing is one of the few pioneers in the world with this principle of spreading diversity and multiculturalism through an academic formation of young generations. I wish I could find more of Limkokwing University in the future in South America. There are plenty of possibilities for an institution such as Limkokwing in South America, particularly in Argentina,” concluded HE Augusto Cesar Granada.
The University has over 30,000 students studying in its 12 other campuses in Malaysia, United Kingdom, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Botswana, Lesotho, Sierra Leone and Swaziland to mention a few. It’s uniquely established departments train today’s professionals for innovative and creative careers.
