Dennise Vazquez from USA

Dennise Vazquez from the United States of America first came to Malaysia seven years ago to celebrate her birthday, and that was when she fell in love with the country.

Discovering Limkokwing University

Dennise found out about Limkokwing from her uncle who was a lecturer at the University’s Faculty of Media and Broadcasting.

“My uncle used to tell me a lot about the University and it sounded like a place I would love to study at. Once I graduated from high school, I found an opportunity to come study. In 2013, I enrolled in the Bachelor of Business (Hons) in International Business.”

An Unmatched Studying Experience

Dennise mentioned that the University provides an unmatched educational experience to students.

“Limkokwing is definitely not like any other university. Creativity and networking with students from over 150 countries adds to the uniqueness of its teaching style. People here have different mentalities and perspectives, so each contribution makes it exceptional; we brainstorm and we are very hands-on.”

“It has been an exciting journey for me of getting to know about different countries. I met more people from of different nationalities than I ever have back home.”

Advanced Business Skills

Not only did Dennise improve her business skills but she also acquired a public speaking ability.

“Before I joined the University, I was very shy and couldn’t speak in front of people. Here I was given opportunities to build up my public speaking skills; I did radio commercials and hosted various events on campus.”

The reason why she chose international business is because she wanted to be in a field that dealt with her getting know different countries’ business concepts. “I also would like to have job opportunities allowing to travel all around the world. With a Limkokwing University education being able to work anywhere is possible.”

Future Plans and Advice to Students

Dennise said she plans to continue with her Master’s Degree and hopefully get a job in Malaysia.

Her advice to students was, “Don’t limit yourself to what you are being taught only. Always go above and beyond, do extracurricular activities, get internships in any company that you can to get real life experience, because through that you will go far.”
