Limkokwing University Cyberjaya held a press conference on 25 August 2017 to announce awards that the PERMATA website has won.
The PERMATA Programme was founded in 2007 by Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak. It consists of seven categories – PERMATA Negara, PERMATA Pintar, PERMATA Seni, PERMATA Insan, PERMATA Kurnia, PERKASA@remaja, and the PERMATA Children’s Hospital.
Designed by Limkokwing University since July 2014, the revamped PERMATA website has won 20 prestigious awards under four governing bodies in 12 categories. In 2016, the Communicator Awards honoured it with eight gold and silver awards of excellence under education, social responsibility, politics, government, community, children, associations and charitable organisations categories.
The W3 Awards, which honour creative web excellence, bestowed the PERMATA Website with seven awards under visual appeal, video and motion graphics and teen categories, to mention a few. Interactive Media Awards and Web Awards also recognised the website for its contribution to society.
A statement issued by the University mentioned that no child-based organisation in the world has had the honour of winning awards of this genre, which has truly put PERMATA Negara up amongst the giants on social media.
