Founding President of Limkokwing University, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr Limkokwing was bestowed with the title of ‘Father of Sustainable Creativity’ at the Global Responsible Business Leadership Awards on 26 April 2018.
Limkokwing Vice President of Brand Creativity and Talent Development, Dato’ Tiffanee Marie Lim, received the award on his behalf, at the award ceremony in Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Petaling Jaya.
The recognition takes into account Tan Sri Limkokwing’s outstanding track record in highlighting the value of industry-led education through Limkokwing University over the past four decades; creating an institution that is transforming nations in Africa, Asia and Europe.
For his dedication in transforming education, creativity and innovation, promoting cross-cultural understanding and global peace, Tan Sri Limkokwing has arguably been bestowed with more awards and recognition than anyone else in Malaysia’s history.
Tan Sri Limkokwing has been the catalyst in transforming the education sector in his native country, helping to fast track it into top ranks of the most popular global destinations for higher education.
His leadership is not only confined to the education sector but also to the community, locally and internationally.
His lifelong journey of empowering nations and people was paid a fitting tribute when he was bestowed with the Commonwealth Champions Award in 2017.
The award recognised Tan Sri Limkokwing’s efforts towards building a peaceful world through various campaigns as well as his endeavours in globalising Malaysian education in Asia, Africa Europe where Limkokwing campuses are set up.
The Global Responsible Business Leadership Awards celebrates the success of large and small organisations, as well as individual leaders in corporate sustainability and responsibility.
The criteria of the awards are not only aligned to the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact but also recognise organisations that achieve triple bottom line success in relation to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
