Limkokwing University announces opening of new campuses in Asia

President and Founder of Limkokwing University, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing, announced that Limkokwing University will open two new campuses in Asia.

The announcement was made during the opening of Limkokwing University’s newest campus in Sierra Leone on 18 March 2017. The two new locations will be in Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The Maldives campus will be opened in association with the Maldives Media Institute. In collaborating with Maldives Media Institute, Limkokwing University has kept itself relevant within the nation’s largest media conglomerate, delivering multi-media innovation courses.  With a population of 300,000, Maldives is consistently in the top 10 of most resort world destination for tourists.

In Sri Lanka, Limkokwing University is set to assist in skill-based programmes for the creative industries. Limkokwing University will partner with Sri Lanka’s National Institute of Business Management (NIBM). A new campus in the capital city Colombo will be set-up within the Sri Lankan National Innovation Centre and will host 15 new disciplines in multimedia creativity and interior architecture.

Sri Lankan Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, welcomed the setting up of the new campus and said that “Limkokwing University’s fresh approach to education will encourage enterprise and inspire many to think out-of-the-box. We are excited to collaborate in designing the next chapter of Sri Lanka’s innovation agenda.”

Construction of Limkokwing University’s two new Asian campuses will begin later this year.
