Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Singapore Academy of Education Pte. Ltd. (SEA) R. Sinnakaruppan, and Founder and CEO of Boclips David Bainbridge paid a work visit to Limkokwing University Cyberjaya campus on early this month.
They were accompanied by former Deputy Education Minister, and former Member of the Parliament for Hulu Selangor seat Dato P. Kamalanathan.
In meeting Founder and President of Limkokwing Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing and the senior management team, the trio had a fruitful discussion on cooperation opportunities in developing bilateral ties with the University.
Giving his feedback during the discussion R. Sinnakaruppan said, “There no other University like Limkokwing University, it has a very creative founder and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes. However, the best of Limkokwing is the Cultural Festival. It an amazing event. We can see all nations here,” he said.
Sinnakaruppan said SEA is happy to collaborate with Limkokwing University in vocational to higher level programmes, especially in TVET area.
“Vocational education is a core in Singapore. Previously, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi visited Singapore and wanted to bring TVET programmes back to India because of high demand. We want to bring this programme to Malaysia, possibly in cloud computing, AI and other levels involving TVET,” he said, while adding that he was happy to cooperate and plan to continue his PhD at Limkokwing University.
Sinnakaruppan has extensive experience in educational policy making including as a Member of Parliament, Chairman of Government Parliamentary Committee (Education) and also served in the Boards of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic, Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Media Development Authority, and National Internet Committee.
SEA is involved in a variety of specialized education products and services focusing on AI and APP, and providing home tutors, educational publications, administrative centres and franchise management, development of adult skills and international consultations in Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States of America (USA).
Adding on to the discussion CEO of Boclips David Bainbridge said that beyond the education world, there was a video world as an optional medium and where he found the idea of storing content as an archive.
“Limkokwing University leads the world of creativity. University where I came from is very stuffy and slow but Limkokwing is a very strong organisation, and suitable to be our partner in Malaysia. This is the most fabulous university. I will tell my kids about this university and I want them to study here because it is a good place to build their international network,” he said.
David sees that video plays an important role in our daily life and today, Boclips publishers feature world-class educational videos from over 120 content providers. It is used by educational publishers, education ministries, and advanced digital software courseware designers around the world to enhance their online learning system.
Meanwhile, Boclips’s mission is to help education providers harness the power of video to help students learn by bringing together the world’s best educational videos on a single platform.
