The business that I have been working on are manufacturing and trading business. For my manufacturing company, I have been working as a marketing personal and product development for the local brand wheat flour, which is very well known and used in Cambodian market. As for the trading company, I’m the importer of bakery products which is a newly startup company that also penetrates about 30% of the bakery market.
The wheat flour manufacturing business is my family-owned business that I have been very closely involved since I started my university. The inspiration is purely from seeing how my grandparents and parents putting up so many hard work building the company from scratch and growing into a very large enterprise. As for the trading company of bakery products, this company has come from the knowledge and extended range from the understanding of the market while working on the wheat flour market, where I can recognize the opportunities to introduce the market with introduction of a new innovated product that were well-known aboard with its quality and many new products to introduced to Cambodian’s market.
I can say almost all of the skills in the International Business Course are very practical for my career development because this course consists of many core subjects that generally focuses on the whole business area including accountant, finance, management, economic, e-commerce and project management. Beside, the course structure have a very well-arrange assignments for students to complete throughout the terms, in which I have gained so many experience with in critical skill, report writing, team coordination, presentation and many more useful skills for that I have applied to my current career.
The most memorable learning experience would be the class assessment such as individual assignment and group assignment. This is the experience of stimulated situation of real working environment where mainly focus on the skills needed to accomplish a project. I have experienced how to work in a team, perform necessary research for information relevant to complete the project and what is more is how helpful is our lecturers as to how they are so active to help and provide guidance for completion of the project.
Besides the academic education, I had meet many new friends who share great knowledge, which now become business owners, and we now building a very good networking that we usually share the business ideas and overview on business environment.
Yes, I would recommend LUCT to the younger generation who looking forward to receive quality education in a quality environment and international standard learning systems.
