Limkokwing University Swaziland opened its doors to students from Mjingo High School for them to learn about its programmes and study contents the University provides. It was also an opportunity for them to interact with faculty members who shared skills and tips on choosing the right academic path.

The students are part of the team that won Junior Achievement (JA) national high schools competition in 2016.

Accompanied by their supervisor Precious, the students were taken on a campus tour and met with the Faculty of Design and Innovation lecturers who introduced them to Limkokwing University students’ work.

Speaking after meeting the lecturers and touring the campus, Precious said, “I am really blown away by the high level of innovation I have seen in the students’ works. Seeing the completed works and finding out that the students who made them had little knowledge about the fundamentals of design illuminates the fact that talent shines brightest when it is merged with design and innovation knowledge. I was particularly impressed by the fact that the designs not only look attractive but are fully functional too.”

Precious added that her students were undoubtedly empowered by the visit to Limkokwing Swaziland, “They learned new skills,” she said. “I noticed that the lecturers shared tips and skills that the students had not been exposed to before, some of which will certainly make future design projects easier for the students.”

The Mjingo High School students agreed with their supervisor’s sentiments, adding that they were considering careers in design and innovation after completing their high school studies.
