Limkokwing University welcomed representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia on 17 Aug 2017.

The Department of Tourism Policy and International Affairs Division Secretary Dr. Tan Awang Besar will be collaborating with Limkokwing University to establish a strategic partnership with Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism and Culture (MOTAC).

As a part of the collaboration effort, the University will produce an impactful launch video themed “Sustainable Tourism for Development” for World Tourism Day 2017 which will be held on 27 September.

The video will emphasise landscape, animals, nature and local culture. It will also highlight the importance of sustainability as a key contributor to economic growth.

Sustainable tourism relies on balance between increasing tourism growth and maintaining environmental protection.

MOTAC is responsible for the country’s tourism related activities and promoting Malaysia’s cultural heritage. These include the preservation of cultural heritage, natural habitats and ecological awareness.

The annual event will include forums, conferences as well as exhibitions with other industry leaders and professionals.

Limkokwing University cultivates partnerships with various government bodies and organisations, and shares its experience to help foster economic growth and industry development in Malaysia as well as other countries worldwide.
