Talents and performers from Limkokwing University serenaded audiences at the IOI City Mall in Putrajaya, Malaysia on 28 April 2017.

The exhibition themed Be Dazzled in Style featured performances by the University’s Sound and Music Academy as well as design showcases from the Faculty of Fashion and Lifestyle Creativity.

More than 50 fashion designs were revealed during the exhibition. These designs were created by specially trained designers from Limkokwing University’s Fashion Club, alumni and talents from the Faculty of Fashion and Lifestyle Creativity. The exhibition also unveiled 12 Hari Raya Collection designs for the upcoming Eid festivities.

Audiences were entertained by the Limkokwing Band, Magic Dance Crew as well as violin performance by Sepideh and vocal performance by Charlotte.

For Bachelor Degree in Fashion Retailing student Taramour Khan, the event provided her with the opportunity to gain her first industry exposure.

“It felt amazing because I never got an opportunity like this before,” she said about her chance to display her designs.

“Limkokwing provided a platform for me to express myself as a designer to bring my ethnicity from my country and mix it with western, and then showcase it here.”

She also added that the University multicultural exposure gives her more space for ideas, because it combines a lot of traditions and colours.

“This exposure is letting me establish myself as a designer while developing my confidence,” she added. “It means that when I finish, I can get good jobs, or create my own brand.”

For Iranian alumni Sarvanez Sadat Mehrjam, who recently completed her MA in Fashion Design and Branding, the exhibition enabled to showcase her latest collection to the public.

“Limkokwing University gave us the chance to express our creativity,” she said while adding that showcases such as these will help students to learn and improve their creations while developing their organisational skills.

“You get to see what people like and come up with ideas to build your brand.”

Limkokwing University provides students with a platform for industry exposure through showcases, exhibitions and competitions. Students learn to develop a competitive spirit to succeed in a globalised environment.
