Limkokwing University welcomed delegates from Guangxi University's Xingjian College of Science and Liberal Arts, China to discuss a collaboration opportunity for expansion on 9 January 2018.

Guangxi University is the oldest and largest comprehensive university in Guangxi as well as the only national ‘211 Project school in Guangxi.

The university is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and three specialty courses namely; Faculty of Business; Faculty of Art and Humanities; as well as the Faculty of Science. It also has two general-course faculties which are the Faculty of Ideological and Political Theories and Faculty of General Education.

It has 44 undergraduate disciplines that are classified into eight subjects that cover Literature, Law, Science, Engineering, Economy, Management, Education and Art.

The institution conducts international exchange and cooperation with other countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Thailand and Australia. It also conducts other education programs such as the 3+1 program, the 3+1 double degree programme, the 3+1+1 undergraduate program, the Taiwan Exchange Programme and the US Summer Social Practise Program. 

Under a collaboration with Limkokwing University, the programme will enable students from China to further their studies in Malaysia under the University’s multicultural learning environment, to provide students with cultural advantage to work with international organisations.

According to Associate Researcher and Guangxi University Vice President, Chen Shulian, between 100 to 200 students will benefit from this cultural exchange programme under the ‘One belt, One Road’ initiative. 

“Our students will benefit from the short term programmes such as short tour of six days or one month stay,” she said while adding that 100 to 200 students are expected to participate in the programme with opportunities to pursue Bachelor Degree or Masters Courses in Malaysia. 

“We will also be looking to add further details in some of the collaboration between Limkokwing University and Guangxi University Xingjian College of Science and Liberal Arts,” she added.

Limkokwing University constantly cooperates with other educational institutions to provide the best in education. Students will gain wider cultural exposure while learning various professional ethics from other nations.
