Ambassador of Palestine to Malaysia, His Excellency Walid Abu Ali and First Counsellor, Sofian M.T. Al Khaldi, received a warm welcome during their visit to Limkokwing University Cyberjaya campus on 14 January 2019.

The duo was received by Founding President of Limkowing, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Limkokwing, and the senior management team of the University to discuss academic opportunities in the near future.

During the discussion, both parties signed an MoU aimed at the mutual benefit of conducting joint research activities and exchanging academic materials which will pave the way for students and academic staff exchange between the two nations.

According to His Excellency Walid, the MoU is important for Palestine to expand and develop more opportunities for Palestinian students.

“I want the national community to realize and understand realities on the ground. We want to avoid being victim of double standard as Palestinian, and we want the international community to treat us fairly and enjoy peace and stability like the other nation,” he said.

His Excellency Walid expressed his gratitude for the support Limkokwing has shown towards Palestinian students and for the warm welcome he received.

“I am impressed with Limkokwing University and it feels amazing to be here. We are truly proud to send our students here, a place they are presented with the most opportunities through an excellent education system and well-equipped facilities,” he said.

He added that many students in Palestine have no means of pursuing their education due to the Israeli occupation which prohibits university operations and children going to school.

His Excellency Walid described Tan Sri Limkokwing as a defender for the Palestinian people as he shows clear solidarity and supports Palestinian students by offering scholarships.

“Tan Sri Limkokwing is a great supporter of peace and justice and we truly appreciate Limkokwing for opening their door for us,” he added.
