Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I know which level is right for me?
New students who would like to join a level higher than the Beginner’s Course need to set an appointment with the University. Our tutor will interview you to determine your level of fluency and suggest which Mandarin course to take.
  2. How do students advance from one level to another?
    • Students advance from her/his current level to the next level. However, if the student loses contact with the course for more than four (4) months, s/he will need to be re-evaluated.
    • Upon completion of all offered levels, the student can work with the tutor in designing a course specifically for her/his needs and target areas for improvement.
  3. Can you tell us a bit about the classes?
We use the communicative approach in teaching Mandarin. This makes our classes interactive, practical and participatory. Students learn to speak and actively use Mandarin in everyday situations through activities like pairing and group work, role-plays and the use of audio-visual aides for enhanced learning and interaction.

“I am very happy with studying Mandarin at Limkokwing London. The teacher is fantastic, helping you with the pronunciation of pinyin and understanding the characters. By the end of the course, you will be able to have simple conversations in Chinese. Very good class materials and good learning atmosphere. I enjoyed the course all the way through!”
