Speed was the inspiration for Limkokwing’s Jhnartanan Jegatheswaran who won the best car wrap design at the 2018 Volkswagen Festival.

The Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Transportation Design student, who is now in his third semester, did Limkokwing University proud by taking the top prize with his old-school Beetle wrap at the event held at Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam from 12 – 14 October 2018.

The prize was something any university student would appreciate – Jhnartanan was given a whole two weeks to drive the latest Volkswagen Beetle wrapped in his stunning design.

Jhnartanan said that he came across the competition by chance and had only a day to complete and make the final submission.

However, with his passion and love for cars, he managed a great effort with the guidance from his lecturers.

Classic Cool

“The theme was ‘classic cool’ and the reason is because I wanted to blend a classical touch together with a sense of cool for such an amazing car,” said Jhnartanan.

Jhnartanan said Limkokwing has played a huge part in his success as a designer, specifically helping him perfect his skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which he used to create his winning design.

“I have to thank my lecturers and friends for helping me out in the completion process as this would have been impossible to achieve without their guidance and support,” he said.

Jhnartanan was delighted to hear the news that his profile and work has been sent to the Volkswagen headquarters in Germany, which could potentially open a whole new world of opportunities for the young lad.

He also mentioned that he hopes to one day get the chance to design for his favourite car brand, Nissan.
