King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Swaziland graced Limkokwing University Swaziland’s fourth graduation ceremony at Mavuso Trade Centre on 13 October 2017.

828 members of the graduating class of 2017 were given due recognition for their hard work and dedication, witnessed by Limkokwing University’s Founder and President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing; Prime Minister of Swaziland, Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini; members of the royal family, ambassadors, consuls, and noteworthy government and industry representatives.

The theme for the graduation was ‘The Future is Now in Your Hands’, coined by Tan Sri Lim to motivate the students and highlight that the skills they have acquired will enable them to shape the industries and model their future as they want it to be.

This year’s convocation was especially significant as Inkhosikati Queen Lambikiza and Inkhosikati Queen Lamotsa were amongst the graduates.

Graduating from the Faculty of Design and Innovation, Inkhosikati Queen Lambikiza was awarded a Leadership in Design and Innovation Award. Inkhosikati Queen Lamotsa was awarded a Leadership in Creativity Award.

Shouts of joy from guardians and parents framed the handing out of scrolls ceremony.

His Majesty King Mswati III commended the Class of 2017 for their focus and dedication and he urged them to explore entrepreneurship, highlighting the availability of science and technology parks where they can develop and expand skills and ideas.

“The days of just learning to be an employee are over. Now is the time where students must learn how to become entrepreneurs. This is indeed the platform that has been placed by Limkokwing for our students, knowing very well that all the students that are there are being made to be entrepreneurs, and this was seen in action right here today,” King Mswati III commented.

His Majesty profoundly thanked Tan Sri Lim for his generosity in supporting Swaziland’s human capital development, noting that Limkokwing University is succeeding in its mission to transform Swaziland’s youth into skilled and techno-savvy individuals who will contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Prime Minister Dlamini said, “This is an exciting day for all the younger graduates who are about to or who have received their graduation certificates and diplomas. It’s also a very encouraging day for the rest of Swaziland as we see another group of university graduates adding to the number of those who have already enjoyed their privilege of receiving an education right through the tertiary stage.”

Tan Sri Lim awarded top academic performers from the Swaziland campus with scholarships to further their studies at the Limkokwing Cyberjaya campus.

A total of 42 students received awards for Academic Excellence, Creativity & Innovation, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Command Performance, as electrifying performances by the Limkokwing choir kept guests entertained throughout the ceremony.
