It was a fun filled day full of sights and sounds as Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Cyberjaya launched its new Dance and Music Club on the 7 November 2013. Students flocked the stage at the plaza to check out the performances showcased by the club.

The launch started with a fashion show by the students of the Faculty of Design Innovation. Six models walked the runway dressed in garments designed and made by these talented young designers. It is always a good opportunity for young talents to be able to showcase their skills and Limkokwing University provides these platforms for them to gain experience and exposure before heading out into the industry.

Many students were excited and registered with the club right after the launch.

After the visual feast, the audience were excited to see the next performers from Limkokwing University’s Dance and Music Club. First up on stage was the duo of Shydzan and Shavkat who performed an original acoustic set that was well received by the crowd. Next came the Cheerleading Club who caught the attention of the crowd with their high flying and sharp moves followed by a performance by the university’s very own Middle Eastern band Okashsa together with local singer Dee who supplied the sultry vocals in Arabic, making it a truly cultural performance.

As a follow up, the break dancing crew took to the stage and showed the crowd how to ‘pop and lock’ just like in the music videos. With an exciting crowd already asking for more, the Dabkah crew went up on stage for a special performance with the clubs belly dancing teacher, Sonia who made jaws drop and eyes curl with her exotic dance moves. Last but not least was the Kenyan band, 254 who performed a few songs with local singer Dee, making it a fitting end to an exciting event. All the performers are students and members of the Limkokwing Dance and Music Club.
