This year’s Limkokwing International Cultural Festival held on 10 May 2018 was once again recognized by The Malaysia Book of Records for having the most number of country representatives ever participating in a cultural festival with 110 delegates attending!

Held at the Cyberjaya campus, the festival was graced by the Royal Guest of Honour and Chancellor, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultanah Pahang Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom DK of Malaysia, accompanied by His Highness Tengku Abdul Fahd Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The theme this year was “The World in One Place” – marking the one day in a year where everyone gets an opportunity to travel the globe in a single day.

Unbelievable experience

Ambassador of Republic of Croatia in Malaysia, His Excellency Kreso Glavac, was among the VIPs who attended the festival.

“I am really impressed with a lot of people from different nationalities and what they all presented today is really something unique and I can openly say that I have never seen anything like this in Malaysia before,” said His Excellency.

He also mentioned that multiculturalism is a very important element in today’s world as it enables people to understand one another even better.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Cultural Division under Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Dr. Tan Awang Besar said the Ministry has always been supportive of events relating to culture simply because it will help create peace and a better understanding among one another, which eventually leads to a peace and harmony.

“Through this event, Malaysia is able to further strengthen ties with many developed and developing countries and it is good to see Limkokwing University playing a very big part by encouraging and organizing such events,” said Dr. Tan.

Director of E-Commerce, Marketing and Public Services Media of Maldives, Ibrahim Nasreen, who is also alumni from Limkokwing University, said he was lucky to have studied in such a multicultural environment which also helped him become a better person when it comes to understanding various cultures.

“When I look back, it gives me so much happiness knowing that this University has always given its students the privilege to explore thinking in various different levels without boundaries,” said Ibrahim.
