Sylvia Prisila Muthangi is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is second largest country in the world that speaks French. She came to Malaysia in August 2015 to pursue her tertiary education in architecture.

“I discovered Limkokwing University through my dad after he told me to do research on it. After gathering my research, I was certain that it is an ideal place for me to study at.”

Sylvia is currently in her first semester of the Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture programme.

The World in One Place

For her, studying with students hailing from over 150 countries offers an immensely diverse experience.

“Being able to learn in a multicultural environment is really rewarding. My cultural perspective and understanding is broadened on the daily, because on campus I interact with people from all walks of life.”

She admitted that she feels at home while surrounded by a diverse group of students.

Top-Notch Education

Sylvia acknowledged that Limkokwing University lecturers are equipped with the right skills to teach and guide students.

“In my field, lecturers first let you explore your creativity before they can put limitations. They give us individual attention and incorporate real-world teaching into the classroom.”

The wide range of student activities and clubs on campus enable students to create bonds and learn from each other.

Advice to Students

“Have an open mind and explore. Don’t stay in your comfort zone, instead grab any opportunity the University provides.”

Sylvia concluded with explaining that Limkokwing University graduates have an advantage because of the multicultural knowledge they gain during their studies.

“Building a network of friends from all over the world can be beneficial, because with multicultural knowledge you can work anywhere.”
